We attended the Gwinnett Beer Fest at Coolray Field yesterday and I must say it was two hoots and a holler! I went with Brian and Doug with whom I have attended the Suwanee Beer Fest the last couple of years. We hung out with with Team Ryan who were a fun and cracked some good jokes. Dan from Team Ryan gave some advice on his Pretzel Necklace…”Wrap the string that rests on the back of your neck in a paper towel. This will prevent friction burns from people snatching pretzels from the necklace.” His smok’n hot wife Shara advised that the one rather large pretzel was hers…which was ok by me…I really can’t see one dude taking a pretzel from another dudes pretzel necklace. Anyway the weather was wet and misty not a real rain event so getting around to all the vendors was no worries. We all had VIP passes which allowed us access to the suites on the upper deck. There were several craft beers to choose from in the suites. Crazy Mountain’s Lawyers, Guns and Money, Orpheus The 12th Labor comes to mind. The food was amazing. Brian and I found the deep fired Oreo’s paired nicely with whatever beer it was we were drinking because by then I could not remember one beer from another. My new beer discovery is Creature Comforts Brewing Co. from Athens, GA. I really liked their offerings and we are planning a road trip to tour the brewery. We pretty much hit every tent and sampled every beer when Doug recommended that we take the shuttle bus to the Tannery Row Ale House which turned out to be another cool event that deserves it’s own post coming soon.
